Task 4

Scene Setup:

This is where most of the camera work is going do be done. As you can see the Macbook is laying on a large plane with a curved backdrop. The plane is so big to account for any sort of camera work I do. I don't want too much empty space in the ad. The curvature is so that if any shadow hits it the shadow will smoothly go up it, instead of the shadow going up a sharp edge. Currently the plane doesn't have any texture on it, however I may experiment with some later on down the line.

Improving the keycaps

When I modeled this Macbook, the image I used for the letters on the key caps was a very low resolution (300x300) transparent png, however it didn't matter at the time because I only rendered out one still frame that wasn't focused on the key caps. Even so if you look closely at the original image, you can start to see individual pixels. This meant I had to recreate the key caps letters myself so they looked crisp. So I went into after effects and made my own version of the keyboard layout. I made the image around 5x as bigger than the original. I had to make text layers for each line of keys, and space them out correctly manually. It was a simple, yet very time consuming process but it had to be done to make the keyboard look realistic. The font was not the exact font that is used on the key caps, as I could not find out that information, so I picked the closest one I could find.

1ST Macbook Scene Done

The first macbook scene has been the complete. I plan to have a still image of the very first scene within the monitor scene so it looks like the camera comes out of the screen, but really its just going to be a seamless transition

3RD Macbook Scene Done

The 3nd scene has been completed. This is one of the two scenes that shows the macbook working. They will be very little motion in this scen so the  you can actually see what is being shown on the monitor. I plan to just have footage of a program like Premiere Pro or After Effects being used to show that this laptop is made for productivitiy.

Last Macbook Scene Done

The last macbook scene has been completed. This the scene where it rises from the ground, get overly bright then cut to white. I am pretty proud of this scene although it was still quite simple, but the look you get once the depth of field develops and the glow the screen creates looks very nice in my opinion. The speed of the animation will be significantly faster once finally rendered, I just don't have real time playback within the viewport on because that is quite a CPU intensive action.

2ND Macbook Scene Done

The last macbook scene has been completed. This scene gets a close up on the keyboard. I plan to add White LED lights to them with a hint of blue to match how they are in real life
